Cast finial in the form of a soldier in what appears to be the uniform of the Imperial Yeomanry, a mounted force created during the second Boer War to counteract the Boer commandos, this figure is stood atop a column with the letters M Y (mounted yeomanry?) at its top, the column forms the stem of the spoon and is decorated with a flag and rifle. The spoon measures 12cm long and weighs 17.3g
