A beautiful stylised horse brooch. Artisan made in 14k gold with a bezel set green cabochon (I’m unsure as to what the stone is, chrysoprase perhaps). In places the gold has a slightly textured finish to suggest a horse’s coat. The back of one of the front legs is marked 14K. The design brings to mind the White Horse at Uffington, while the constructions reminds me of some of the designs Archibald Knox created using the juxtaposition of curves and tight bends/angles. The brooch measures 50mm by 35mm.
